Britt is an Emmy award winning news anchor and reporter with nearly 20 years of broadcast experience including on air, online streaming and via social. The native Texan is a mom of three based in her hometown of Austin. Britt is an Emmy nominated Host and six time Emmy nominee. She has emceed and moderated dozens of wide ranging events and panels for various causes garnering millions in support for various organizations throughout the years.
Britt anchored the evening news at the NBC affiliate in Austin, KXAN. The Austin Chronicle nominated her for “Best News Anchor” in 2024. She hosted the 2022 Texas Governor’s Debate which aired across the great state of Texas. Britt made it a mission to interview heavy hitters in the local community including musicians, athletes, influencers and political leaders. She also worked on a series of reports highlighting mental health challenges and solutions for new parents, particularly mothers. The National Association of Social Workers Texas Chapter awarded Britt the “Media Award of the Year” in 2024 for her philanthropic work.
Previously Britt anchored the weekday morning newscasts in Denver, Colorado for KCNC, the CBS affiliate. That’s where she won the 2017 Colorado Broadcaster’s Association Award of Excellence for her reporting on children Aging Out of the foster care system. She is also CBS4’s 2019 Heartland Emmy winner for best “News Anchor.” While in Denver she advocated for children in Colorado’s foster care system and helped facilitate 60 adoptions over the span of eight years by introducing viewers to children in need of families.
She has also reported and anchored at KSAZ in Phoenix, Arizona at the FOX affiliate where she earned an Emmy for documenting a multi agency pursuit of immigrants in the Arizona desert while showcasing multiple sides of undocumented immigration. She first reported in her home state of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley.
In her early years, she graduated with honors from St. Stephen’s High School in Austin. Later, she landed her first on air gig as a host for a music show that aired live to San Antonio. While in that city she graduated from Trinity University with a double major in Communication and Spanish.
Britt loves maintaining community partnerships with businesses and nonprofits and advocates for underprivileged children.
